What is the "Maternitywear Exchange" ... ?The "Maternitywear Exchange" was founded by Miriam Blazey in 1999. It started as a Dress Agency for nearly new maternity clothes but has now expanded to incorporate brand new end of line and clearance stock from other companies. We want it to be a pleasant shopping experience for mums-to-be to browse through a large selection of good quality maternitywear offered at good prices, so we are open by appointment in a home-based environment. In all other ways we are exactly like any other shop. All our buyers are encouraged to become sellers at some point in the future to keep the "circle" going. For more about us click here Back to TopWhere can I find the "Maternitywear Exchange"... ?The Exchange was started in Bourne End in Buckinghamshire, England and still offers the largest selection of stock, but has now expanded to cover three Regional Sales Agents in the South-East - Frimley Green in Surrey; Beckenham in Kent and Liss in Hampshire. If you are close enough to visit, please call them - they would love to see you! They are all operated from home as one of its core beliefs was to offer a friendly cost-effective service to the local community and that was best offered from home, without the expense and overheads of a shop. Back to TopWhat can I expect to buy ... ?We aim to stock the largest selection of new and nearly new clothing in the UK. We stock all clothing needs for the pregnant woman: casual wear, breast-feeding tops, smart casual, business suits and eveningwear, new and nearly new. Our lingerie is brand new end of line stock - we DO NOT sell second hand bras. In the catalogue we show our stock divided into 17 categories such as Blouses, T-shirts, skirt, dresses, suits, shorts etc. All clothing is shown with their manufacturer, size, description and MRRP (manufacturers recommended retail price - what the shops list price would be). Back to TopHow do I use the catalogue ... ?The database lists hundreds of items. Every item has a unique code. Therefore to help find the items you want we have set up several ways to search the contents. 1. "By size" This is the best section to go to if you want a full wardrobe and are a specific size. This section tables all the stock by size (UK sizes e.g. 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20+ and then each table sorted by category. As you can imagine for sizes 10, 12 &14 this can run into hundred of items in their tables so the initial loading time is slower. (However, bear in mind that using your pre-pregnancy size for your maternity clothes needs is not fool-proof. Because all pregnancies are different, babies sit in different positions, woman change shape and believe it or not, not all manufacturers cut the same sizes, you may also want to look at sizes up or down from your usual. For more information on size advice click here 3. "By make" If you like a particular make of clothing e.g. Next or Blooming Marvellous, or you have seen an item in a shop and want to compare a price or availability these tables are your first stop. The section is displayed by the leading high street, mail order and designerwear label makes. Each make is then sorted by category of clothing. 4. "New in this week" All the new items brought to the Exchange in the last week. If you are visiting regularly and just want to check "what's new" then this is an excellent short-cut. We would like our customers to visit regularly as you would if you were passing a shop in your high street to see what's new. Back to TopCan I buy "out of season" stock?Yes! One of the advantages of the Exchange is that there is stock coming in all the time so if you are going on holiday to a hot resort and it is March in the UK you can buy your holiday wardrobe before the shops have their stock, and of course make a great saving as well!
